INGREDIENTS
1.Fried pacharipodi-2 cup
2.Fried pacharipodi for kappi-one fourth cup
3.Grated coconut-2 cup
4.Sugar- one and a half cup
5.Jeerakam,yeast-half teaspoon
6.Soda powder-one pinch
7.Cardamom-4
8.Water-4 cup
9.Salt-as required
METHOD
1. Add little water to fried pacharipodi for making kappi and mix well without bubble formation.
2.Add only 2 cups of water.
3.Boil this .Continue stirring when it boils .Remove from flame and allow it to cool.
4.Add little yeast to little hot water and also little sugar and allow it to ferment.Close it and keep aside.
5.Add fried pacharipodi,cold kappi to this fermented mix and make a fine dough.Add little water to it.
6.Keep the dough for 8 hours for fermentation.
7.Add cardamom,jeerakam,grated coconut and make a fine paste..
8.Add to fermented dough the paste mix,salt,sugar,soda powder,and mix well.
9.Keep aside for 3 hours for fermentation.
10.Add little butter in the plate to cook vatteppam.
11.Add the batter to the plate and steam cook for 30 minutes.
12.Make with remaining dough vatteppams in same manner.
